The 2012 Zinfinity was awarded a Gold Medal at the North Coast Wine Challenge
Our sixth vintage of Zinfinity Sonoma County Zinfandel again utilizes the magic of blending to achieve a beautifully balanced, densely structured wine. The foundation of the 2012 Zinfinity is the 50 year old vines in Biglieri Vineyard at the southern edge of Dry Creek Valley, blended with some Bradford Mountain selection Zin from Ottimino Vineyard, our home ranch. To these finely nuanced Zins we added dense hillside fruit from Windsor Oaks Vineyard in the Chalk Hill sub-appellation of Russian River Valley, and more old vine Zin from the Cartee Vineyard down the street from Seghesio Winery. Finally, we added Petite Sirah from Doug Rafanelli’s steep hillside vines to enhance the density and structure of the blend. The lots were aged separately for eight months, then fashioned into Zinfinity and racked to French oak for twelve more months of aging.
